General Function: This person will be responsible for establishing, monitoring and managing the implementations process for packaging graphics and sample book from design-handoff through pre-production and then production.
This will include ensuring that packaging graphics are produced to spec and working as main liaison addressing any supplier questions / issues.
Duties and Responsibilities: Packaging Graphics implementation: · Manage Implementation sign-off's for all new and revised package graphics projects · Manage Implementation packages that are sent to supplier.
Package include approved color standards and all pertinent information pertaining to project · Working with graphic design team to ensure all art files are outputted in accordance to packaging vendor specifications or footprint · Manage color drawdown process with assigned vendor · Approval of all color drawdown's, trial samples and production from all packaging suppliers · Spectrophotometer management · Perform production audits associated with new and revised art projects · Work a cross functional team to complete report cards based on vendor performance · Qualification of new packaging vendors as it relates to color and graphics to ensure compliant with Global criteria of NR · Communicating all updates and revisions internally and externally · Communicating and implementing timelines around packaging graphic projects · Ensuring the packaging graphics travels through the pre-production approval process on time and without any issues Sample Book implementation: · Liaison between Marketing, Sourcing, Project Management and Packaging · Works with Brand Manager on key layout of new and current sample book projects · Coordinator of all correspondence in relation to new project to Sample Book Supplier · Works with Packaging Engineer to develop and output new structure part files in for book layout · Prototype development in all phases of development · Management of all parts ID#'s out of Marcom, photography parts ID#'s and places accordingly in Bill Of Material prior to sending to sample book supplier · Approvals on all trial samples, drawdown's and top sheets of production · Testing of all prototypes from sample book supplier and coordination of revisions both internally and externally at vendor · Press checks for print approval Graphic Development · Liaison between Graphic department and Packaging in all graphic development projects to include Creative Briefs and Project Briefs · Liaison with print supplier to ensure graphic development can be achieved at vendor · Liaison between sourcing to ensure pre-cost analysis from vendor is complete based on supplied specifications for project · On-going development of processes and procedures within the graphic areas to improve graphic timelines · Actual graphic production capabilities a plus! Minimum 5 years experience managing the pre-production and production of graphics on point-of-sale packaging.
Experience should include: Understanding the printing industry for all types of packaging substratesUnderstanding the graphics pre-production and production processUnderstanding of printing standards for the packaging industryUnderstanding and communicating of all color management data to include DEcmc, LAB, etc.Graphic design programs CS4, InDesign, and CAD programs a plusUnderstanding of graphic developmentAbility to work in all graphic applications to ensure files are built correctly for productionExperience with on-press color approvalExperience with Light booth certified approvalSpectrophotometer experience requiredUnderstanding of and experience implementing quality control measures to ensure packaging qualityGood project management and organizational skills.
Experience managing several projects simultaneously.
Experience leading internal graphics and packaging projects from sign-off through implementation.
