This position is responsible for the cost, schedule, quality, business and technical performance of company programs and projects from approval to launch in ATX production.
Principal Accountabilities · Directs all phases of company programs from inception through ATX production launch including strategic planning, project budgeting, initiating improvements to processes and design integrity, and any other functions that facilitate effective performance by and proper focus for the organization, and help ensure continued customer satisfaction.
· Plans, coordinates development and has responsibility for all aspects of programs and projects including internal proposals, statements of work, requirements, specifications, schedule performance, business plans, cost, budgets and financial terms/conditions of supplier contracts, strategic planning, internal customer rapport, external customer rapport via solid relationships with business and technical customer interface teams, teaming, coordination of staff and subcontractors.
Oversees and ensures the development, test, validation, and launch processes occur on schedule, within cost, and quality targets.
· Responsible for the consistent use of the Integrated Product Development Process throughout the company and use of Process Based Management for all program and project management processes including the documentation, measurement, and reporting of key processes.
· Act as the primary internal contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, quality and technical performance.
· Establishment of design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test, and launch· Ensures the efficient and productive use of resources and conveys requirements to program personnel.
· Establishes milestones and monitoring adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems, determination of risk areas and obtaining solutions and alternative courses of action, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specification.
· Reports status of project to milestones at level appropriate to recipient· Direction of work for employees assigned to the program from technical, service delivery, and administrative areas regarding task assignments and completion.
· Champion customer satisfaction while managing program performance to meet the needs of the company.
· Build and maintain solid relationship with persons in all level of the organization especially the business and technical customer management teams· Communicate effectively with ATX internal business and technical customer management teams so that those teams may effectively communicate with the customer· Travel (including international) required, sometimes on short notice.
Knowledge and Experience· 7 10 years of work experience in business, engineering and/or software development and project and/or program management of which 4 5 years minimum in a leadership position· Familiar with processes necessary to manage program execution, requirements management, system design, development, integration, test and evaluation requirements for complex solutions including relevant state-of-the-art technology.
· Direct experience with oversight of development of large complex technology systems and management, modern development techniques and environments, and participation with program controls is essential.
· Excellent communication skills including the capability to prepare and deliver effective communications and presentations.
Highly presentable and able to interact well with multiple levels in the organization and with customers.
Understanding and ability to converse effectively regarding software, hardware, integration and validation.
