Housing Specialist Job DutiesIdentify rental property in line with HUD Section 8 housingcriteria and develop working relationships with owners in support of housing homeless veterans.

Advocate for waiving deposits and inclusion of utilities in monthly rent, as these are barriers to housing for homeless veterans who have little or no income.

Assist veterans throughout their rental housing search to find a house or apartment that will meet their needs as well as the qualifications of the PHA Inspector.

Coordinate briefing sessions and conduct educational rental housing seminars for program participants and landlords.

Participate in the PHA interview process of veteran applicants to determine need.

Interact with the HUD-VASH Case Managers, veterans and PHA staff in order to buildand maintain relationships that support secure expeditious placement once the veteran has received a voucher.

Introduce veterans with HUD-VASH voucher to landlords and negotiate various aspects of leasing such as security deposits, utility bills and monthly lease amounts.

Counsel veteran applicants on fair housing and lease agreements, housing eligibility; assist veterans and landlords in the leasing processwith the PHA, and monitor the units under lease.

Prepare reports, maintain records and data bases, and perform other related work as required by HUD-VASH Case Managers in support of veterans enrolled in the program.

Prepare office and marketing materials to mail/hand out in order to educateprospective landlords and veterans about HUD-VASH program.

Follow-up with all veteran applicants as they search forand move into permanent housing.

Maintain good public relations with landlords and developers in the community thatmay be willing to rent to a veteran with HUD-VASH voucher.

Monitor overall program operations and keep staff informed of any new units that are available.

Transport veterans to see units that are available for rent and report the outcome of these visits weekly.

This position is responsible for the cost, schedule, quality, business and technical performance of company programs and projects from approval to launch in ATX production.

 Principal Accountabilities ·         Directs all phases of company programs from inception through ATX production launch including strategic planning, project budgeting, initiating improvements to processes and design integrity, and any other functions that facilitate effective performance by and proper focus for the organization, and help ensure continued customer satisfaction.

·         Plans, coordinates development and has responsibility for all aspects of programs and projects including internal proposals, statements of work, requirements, specifications, schedule performance, business plans, cost, budgets and financial terms/conditions of supplier contracts, strategic planning, internal customer rapport, external customer rapport via solid relationships with business and technical customer interface teams, teaming, coordination of staff and subcontractors.

  Oversees and ensures the development, test, validation, and launch processes occur on schedule, within cost, and quality targets.

·         Responsible for the consistent use of the Integrated Product Development Process throughout the company and use of Process Based Management for all program and project management processes including the documentation, measurement, and reporting of key processes.

·         Establishment of design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test, and launch·         Ensures the efficient and productive use of resources and conveys requirements to program personnel.
