RequirementsHave some knowledge of the operating principles, practices, and the maintenance requirements of wastewater treatment equipment and machinery.

Have general knowledge of the functions of wastewater treatment plant equipment.

Have ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Graduation from high school or GED.Ability to obtain Class \”D\” within 1 year.

Have general knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions associated with wastewater plant activities.

Ability to understand and follow specified operating and recording procedures.

Performs environmental, health and safety functions for night shift as needed to comply with company policy, local, state and federal laws and regulations.Maintains efficient operations ensuring employees are following shift instructions, company rules and policies. Makes changes in scheduling or job functions when necessary to meet customer/production needs. Ensures housekeeping standards are met. Enters required inventory information. Req 241289 General Summary Prevents loss or injury to United Defense or Government property, personnel, or visitors by deterring, detecting and reporting physical threats to the operations. Controls entrance and exit points. Responds to and reports fires, spills and medical emergencies. Alerts personnel to impending danger from severe weather, bomb threats or other hazards. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Greets and assists employees and visitors. Provides them with the appropriate information relative to requirements for entering and exiting the plant. May direct them to desired areas. 2. Utilizing established entry control procedures, detects the presence of threats to personnel and property through direct observation and/or electronic detection equipment of all persons entering and exiting the facility. 3. As appropriate, intervenes to safeguard personnel from injury and danger. Provides assistance as necessary to injured or sick personnel. 4. Requests assistance from the Physical Security Supervisor (PSS) when an employee or a visitor becomes belligerent, demanding or troublesome. 5. Remains at the designated post until relieved by another Plant Protection Officer or authorized to leave by the PSS. 6. Performs scheduled inspections of the plant facilities and premises to ensure security and safety procedures are followed, safety hazards are eliminated and security procedures are enforced. 7. Documents, in writing, all unusual occurrences, significant events, safety, health and security incidents witnessed or otherwise involved in and reports them to the PSS. 8. Studies training materials and instructions in the pass-on-book in order to maintain and/or increase job knowledge. Regularly reviews all instructions in the pass-on-book. 9. Required to maintain certifications in first aid and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR). 10. Complies with instructions of Supervisors, the Plant Protection Operating Instructions and Special Instructions. May be required to pass on instructions and assist in supervision of other Plant Protection Officers in the absence of the PSS. 11. Required to participate in a physical examination if necessitated by job content and duties. Basic Qualifications: 1. Requires a High School Diploma or GED. 2. Requires excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. 3. Possesses experience taking direction and acting appropriately under possible stressful situations. 4. Possess a demonstrated ability to get along with others. 5. Exhibits tact, emotional stability, good judgment, self-reliance, and patience. 6.
