Position Description: US Citizenship RequiredNo Relocation BenefitsGroup 39 is actively seeking a new Senior Technician for its RF/Microwave measurement laboratory.

The following are the requirements for the position: Candidate will work in an RF/Microwave laboratory supporting activities for the Air Defense Techniques Group.

Duties include, but are not limited to, assembly of antennas and microwave components for high frequencies; electronic assembly and wiring from schematics; assemble, test and troubleshoot microwave circuits, including electronic test equipment, antenna components, and RF coaxial components; mechanical assembly from drawings and interface with machinist and fabrication personnel; occasional antenna tower climbing; some light-to moderate lifting of chassis and equipment with a maximum of 50 pounds; occasional travel to field sites; and work under non-laboratory conditions (ie outdoor work).

May direct and train technicians of a lower grade.

Requires little to no supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Graduation from a two-year technical school or its equivalent, and at least 5 years of applicable experience required.

Experience and skills: The applicant must possess outstanding skills in basic electronics from D-C to Microwave Frequencies.

Experience calibrating and using test equipment such RF network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, and RF power meters.

NASA certified soldering is desired, but not required.

Some experience with CAD software, such as AutoCad, and PCB layout is also useful.

Good “hands-on” skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently are essential requirements.
