GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Regional Manager for Global Network Logistics is responsible for the efficient and effective management of transportation and logistics operations in the designated region.
The Regional Manager is responsible for managing cost reductions, resources and remaining within established budgets for all assigned stations and locations.
The Regional Manager is also responsible for maintaining business relationships in accordance with NGLs corporate guidelines with all agents, independent contractors and local vendors serving the assigned geography.
In addition, the Regional Manager will serve as liaison to customers in their geography for operational support.
To be successful, the Regional Manager must have a solid background in operational management.
The candidate must have excellent leadership skills and a demonstrated track record of accomplishing goals and meeting budgets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Regional Manager supervises all staff within their region.
Functions as liaison and knowledge source to colleagues as necessary.
Manages and maintains the quality of all ground services provided to assigned customers and all shipments into or out of assigned geographyProvides training and direction to employees in assigned region; hires and terminates as necessaryEnsures proper staffing levels to maintain high service levels with budgetary guidelinesCommunicates with corporate headquarters on a consistent and timely basis Maintains regional reporting metrics; recommends and implements changes to improve performance Assesses operational needs including staffing changes, schedules and driver availability; makes necessary changes as appropriate Serves as the operational liaison to customers in the assigned regionMaintains an active roster of dependable independent contractors which includes recruiting, training and terminating contracts as appropriateMotivates subordinates through leadership and by exampleEnsures compliance with all Federal, state and local regulations with respect to facilities, personnel and transportation services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors degree or higher required Experience managing logistics and warehouse operations preferred Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) Proven track record in meeting and accomplishing goals Strong time management skills, ability to prioritize, and the ability to multi-task effectively Innovative approach to problem solving Ability to provide multi-level reporting and communication Working knowledge of Next Flight Out, ground courier industry and warehouse operations
