For more information, visit www.websense.com. The Sales Engineering Manager leads an elite field engineering team responsible for pioneering the success of Websense network appliance and cloud-based security solutions.
This is a consultative sales (pre-sales) position where the sales engineering manager is directly involved in high impact deals across a range of industries including financial services, retail, transportation, health care, and education.
Additionally, he/she will work closely with existing and prospective customers and our engineering teams on product design, deployment, and development of future product capabilities.
This position is remote and we are seeking candidates located on the East Coast.
Essential FunctionsCoach a team of sales engineers to deliver product, technology and/ or solution presentations to technical and business decision makers.
Propose and recommend design technologies for customer.
Work with team to architect, design, build, and deploy secure enterprise solutions for customers.
Work together with engineering, sales, project management to define the roadmap and milestones for each project, and the required involvement of delivery.
Participate in on-going consultative selling to both medium and large customer base.
Work directly with partners to get designs implemented.
Recommend changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization(s).
Define the territorys competitive landscape and overcome these obstacles Determine sales methodology for penetrating targeted markets Monitor teams performance and drive individual results Travel throughout the region to participate in pre-sale opportunities (RFPs/RFIs) Work closely with sales account managers and channel sales to successfully execute customer proof of concept activities Perform other duties and projects as assigned Education and Experience Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent experience 5 years of management experience with extensive experience managing teams in a pre-sales environment.
