Job Description GENERAL SUMMARYProvides leadership, mentorship and value to the field practices in the area of the services strategy and offerings, sales and delivery capability and overall performance and execution of the business plan.
Senior service professional who has demonstrated an ability to lead based on experience, knowledge, passion and competence.
Works closely with sales and delivery teams to coordinate and conduct the delivery of high-level complex solutions.
Overall responsibility for the development of practice standards, policies and procedures.
Drives utilization, increased revenue and the delivery of billable engagements for EMC products and consulting services.
Architects industry solutions based on technologies available to support customer needs.
Key metrics for successful performance include meeting revenue and bookings targets, managing to a utilization number, development of new services and solutions, and internal and external thought leadership.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESLeveraging customer experiences and technical expertise as input, develops, drives and articulates solutions to practice and the broader EMC community.
Guides practice team to effectively deliver EMC solutions and provide continual practice growth.
Monitors practice job performance and provides coaching, counseling, and motivation to maximize practice performance.
Recruits and hires employees, based on global profiles, who can help grow and drive EMC”s business strategy.
May review and approve legally binding contracts with partners and customers.
Works to design, develop and bring to market value-added offerings which will drive additional opportunities.
Solicits and incorporates enhancements and new topics from the field.
Ensure the field understands, applies, and executes upon the offerings.
Provides technical and/or business consultative leadership for a specific practice at the pre-and/or post sale phase.
Proactively provides input into the development of Practices policies, procedures, standards and strategies with local (Regional or Divisional) teams as well as corporate teams.
Ensures appropriate levels of specialization in the practice are being achieved by utilizing classroom, OTJ, Web based training, and brown bag meetings.
Manages practice training participation while ensuring the practice maintains high utilization rates.
Monitors skill sets required and takes action to remedy skill set shortfalls within the practice.
Maintains a level of practice readiness, in order to be successfully prepared to support the delivery of customer engagements (skilled and trained workforce, strong partner relations, tested and proven technical solutions and development methodologies).
Manages and oversees resourcing function for all employees within practice function.
Ensures adequate level of resources in place to meet profitable demand.
Responsible for maximizing utilization of entire team and chargeability of all delivery resources within practice and geography.
Ability to travel up to 70% of the time (depending on geography).
Responsible for ensuring personnel are placed in healthy roles where personal improvement is possible.
Resolves any resource deployment issues.
Integrates industry and technical knowledge into practical sales-related tactics, techniques and procedures, thereby ensuring teams support the sales efforts by delivering well-rounded and well-developed proposals.
If consulting solution has a product component, may provide technical input to product engineering to enable product improvements and enhancements.
Builds and maintains relationships with various EMC organizations to further influence and create issue resolution in order to facilitate viability of overall TS Practice.EMC Proven Professional Certification desired.
Leverages EMC talent in the sale and delivery of quality solutions and implementation.
