The Akebono Brake Plant in Clarksville, TN is looking for set-up operators.
These are direct hire positions.

Other job functions will be to use hands, arms, legs and back to: – Set up tools, indicate chucks and pallets- Move parts and components- Prepare equipment to accommodate different product line- Adjust gages to meet appropriate specifications.
- Perform TPM and Gage checks per specification – Check fluid levels and add fluids if necessary- Clean machines and surrounding work area3.
Visually inspects the product at all stages, including final inspection.
This job involves bending, stooping, crouching and reaching to lift material weighing up to 70 lbs.Working hours: Must be able to work all shifts and weekends.
Shifts are 8-12 hours.
Candidates must have a verifiable HSD/GED, commit to a drug free work environment and meet minimum skill requirements.
Candidates must also have a minimum of 24 months verifiable and recent industrial experience.
Knowledge – Requires the knowledge of advanced arithmetic; ability to speak and write in a clear and understandable manner; understand detailed verbal and written instructions; knowledge of precision measuring instruments; knowledge ordinarily acquired through high school graduation plus training machine set-up.
Mental – Requires continuous attention to detail, process and safety procedures with periods of high concentration to maintain flow of product and inspecting the equipment and product for flawsPhysical – Requires walking and standing a majority of the time, lifting weights up to 70 lbs. frequently, stooping and bending.
