Overall Job Summary: Responsible for systems analysis, programming and/or software development for systems of varying complexity.
Activities will include support of project management, analysis, design, development, implementation, issue resolution, support, and maintenance of operating systems and applications.
Primary Accountabilities include: Review project design requirements and research the operating system and application’s ability to meet the requirements; Review and recommend system changes; Design and document test scenarios for proposed designs and implementations; Documentation / Training – technical & end user; Quality end-user support with emphasis on effective verbal and written communications.
Technical Skills Required: SQL Server 2005/2008 development, maintenance and analysis experience with SSIS, DTS, and Windows batch processing.
Oracle 10g development, maintenance and analysis experience with PL/SQL coding and AIX/Unix batch processing.
Microsoft Office applications Additional Desired Technical Skills: Showcase reporting Cognos reporting PowerBuilder Visual Basic Visual Studio .NET Crystal Reports Essbase Soft Skills Required: Excellent communications skills (verbal, written) including ability to provide technical information in understandable language for the business users.
Excellent time management skills to allow for balancing and tracking of multiple tasks and assignments.
Attention to detail to ensure accurate results Minimum Education Requirements: Associate’s degree with emphasis on computer science or information technology OR Bachelor’s degree in information systems, business administration, computer science, or equivalent technical fieldMinimum Experience Requirements: Associate’s degree with emphasis on computer science or information technology with 4 years internal experience, or 5 to 6 years external experience and direct applicability to position accountabilities OR Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an information technology field of study with 2 to 3 years in an information technology related positionOur generous benefits package includes the Alcon 401(k) Plan which matches employee contributions up to 5% of eligible pay at the rate of $1.
