Provide direct patient care for assigned patients and assist in the care of other patients as needed.

Perform all technical aspects of dialysis procedures.

Assess patients’ response to dialysis therapy and make appropriate adjustments and modifications to the treatment plan as indicated or directed by the supervisor or as prescribed by the Physician.

Assess patient pre, interim, and post dialysis and document findings.

Administer medications as ordered to assigned patients.

Responsible for assessing educational needs of patient and educating the patient and family regarding end stage renal disease, dialysis therapy, diet and medications.

Current appropriate RN licensure.

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

Successful completion of a training course in theory and practice of hemodialysis.

Successful completion of CPR Certification.

Minimum of one-year medical-surgical nursing experience preferred.

Hemodialysis experience preferred but not required.ICU experience preferred.

Ability to assist in lifting patients and equipment.

Ability to provide coverage at area facilities during times of short staffing or as required.

Description: Under direction of the Registered Nurse, the MHS provides direct patient care and participates in therapeutic milieu.

Successful candidate will provide accurate and timely documentation of AFS, progress notes, and observation sheets.

Establishes therapeutic relationships with patients, maintaining professional boundaries.

Identifies patient behaviors that contribute to the development of a crisis; utilizes non-verbal and verbal techniques to de-escalate crisis situation.

Participates in planning and implementation of patient groups.

Active milieu assessment while assigned to checks, particularly attuned to safety concerns.

Assists patients in their activities of daily livingQualifications: High School Diploma Required.

Two years of college preferred.

Requires verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in collaboration with others.

No experience required.

One year patient care or related experience preferred, preferably in a psychiatric setting.
