SUMMARY: Supervises, coordinates, and schedules activities of team members engaged in teller functions, ensuring that work is performed in accordance with established policies and procedures such as: accurately accounting for funds received and disbursed, correctly recording member transaction in the credit unions data processing system, and providing information to members with respect to their financial and other transactions at the credit union.

Acts as Branch Vault Custodian: handles all cash and cash-like items in compliance with policies and internal controls.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Develops, schedules, and ensures a complement of tellers is available at all times to provide an adequate level of teller service to members.

Backs up branch manager in assisting financial service representatives as may be necessary from time to time.

Performs cashiering and other clerical duties, when required, to assist subordinates during peak work periodSearches records to assist team members in locating and reconciling posting errors on members accounts to verify accuracy of transactions.

Ensures that all teller transactions (cash, checks, other forms of funds) and ATM machines are balanced, reconciled, and encoded, and appropriate clearing deposits are made to the Federal Reserve.

Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and consistency with policies and procedures.

Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.

Orders cash and ensures that teller cash drawer levels are in conformance with bonding limits.

Supplies cash as needed, and removes cash to vault treasury to reduce drawer limits when appropriate.

Adheres to all member service standards as set forth by the credit union.Be an advocate of the Michigan First culture, supporting diversity, philosophy and other credit union initiatives.

Fosters a positive image of Michigan First via professional representation in all contacts and complies with all of Michigan Firsts mission and vision goals.

Reflects each of the credit unions Isms in daily job performance.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises team members in the teller area.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include training team members; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
