Roles and Responsibilities: Installs, tests, maintains, and coordinates the use of the companys internal computer network system and telephone system.
Evaluates hardware, software, and peripheral equipment for simple networks.
Manages network performance.
Troubleshoots and resolves problems to ensure quality transmission service on the network.
Creates, maintains, and deletes user accounts and sets up related equipment.
Loads software.
Maintains and supports email system, including quarantined email, virus detection, clean-up, and back-up.
Maintains and updates system security plans.
Backs up data on regular basis.
Administers network policies, procedures, and standards.
Enforces security procedures.
Position Requirements: Physical Demands: Ability to carry and lift 50 pounds on a daily basis.
Ability to install, move, and remove computer systems by kneeling, stooping, and reaching.
Education: Associates degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
If no degree, equivalent experience (1 year of experience = 1 year of college) will be considered.
Base level: Fully-qualified level handles moderately complex to complex problems.
Minimum three (3) years of computer networking experience that includes installing, testing, maintaining, coordinating, and troubleshooting computer networks.
Good knowledge of networking systems.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication skills.
Senior level: Senior-level position acts as subject matter or team leader and handles complex problems regularly.
Minimum seven (7) years of computer networking experience, including at least three (3) years of experience installing, testing, maintaining, coordinating, and troubleshooting computer networks.
Excellent knowledge of computer networks.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Effective communication skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good leadership skills.
This position is located in Waltham, MA. Relocation assistance is not available.
Local candidates will be given preference.
Candidates must be able to work in the US legally without requiring sponsorship.
