Consider which system will work best for you, whether you should start with your skill set or if you should jump right into your job history. You may want to have a variety of different resumes for different industries. This is something else that you can research online.
Once you start searching for jobs in your field of interest you should be creative in your search. There are many job sites online, some are specific to an area, others are national (where you can put in your city and state and see results specific to your region) and others are grabber sites, they grab information from other sites and post them on their own. However, something that is often overlooked are business sites. Many companies do not advertise anywhere but their own websites, so knowing the names of businesses that have positions in areas that you are looking for may be how to find a new job.
