The Business Development Manager is responsible for building and managing a territory and direct sales of Sequenoms products and services in the Capital region of the United States.
The position reports to the VP, Sales The Americas.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure the achievement of sales objectives by creating and calling on prospective customers
Providing technical and administrative product information, seminars and quotes.
Conduct territory development and growth activities to enhance Sequenoms visibility and business
Assist with the implementation of new sales strategies.
Interact closely with Marketing to identify needs for sales tools, message development, and delivery mechanisms
Work closely with Customer Support to enhance sales and customer satisfaction.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 8-10 years of sales experience promoting genomics based or molecular biology based products or services
Exposure to genotyping, gene-expression or DNA methylation based products and technologies is advantageous but not required
Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team selling environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Capital Equipment sales experience
Bachelors Degree in biologic or related scientific discipline
